Day 01:

Distance 340kms – 6hrs.

After breakfast, depart for Samburu game reserve

Drive North East of Nairobi, through rich agricultural lands of the Agikuyu (Tribe) Kenyan largest ethnic group.

Scenic country side with the Aberdare chain of mountains lying to the West and Mt.Kenya, second highest peak in Africa after Kilimanjaro to the East.

Samburu area has basically three game reserves neighbouring each other.

The Samburu game reserve to the North of the Ewaso Nyiro River,

the buffalo and Shaba game reserves to the south and, astride the Ewaso Nyiro River.

These semi-arid lands provide habitat to some of the rarest wildlife on earth.

The likes of the reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, (Wailler’s gazelle), the beisa oryx, and greater kudu, as well as the grevy zebra, just to mention but a few.

Elephants, lions, cheetahs, etc. are other animals that are also represented in these arid lands.

There are also plentiful of birdlife to observe in these vast semi-arid ecosystems of at least over 350 species of both sedentally and (migratory) palearctic migrants.

Afternoon game drive from 16:00hrs.

 

Day 02: 

– Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives.

– Lunch/Dinner/Overnight.

 

Day 03: 

– Departure after breakfast for Ol-pejeta in Nanyuki.

– Distance: 155 kms. Approximately two and a half hours

– Ol-pejeta conservancy is a private game ranch > 360 km².

– Home to elephants, buffalos, lions, giraffes, etc.

– (Afternoon game drive) 16:00hrs

– Important sanctuary for black and white rhinos.

– Sanctuary for chimpanzees, is also another interesting area to visit within this conservancy.

Afternoon game drive from 16:00 hrs – 18:30 hrs.

Dinner and overnight at S.W.T.C./Maisha Camp.

 

Day 04: 

After breakfast, depart for Lake Naivasha, one of the seven lakes on the floor of the Great Rift Valley between Kenyan border  with Ethiopia to the North and Tanzanian borderr to the South.

Arrive in time for lunch @ lodge/resort and after lunch enjoy a boat ride and visit Crescent Island where you’ll have a moment to walk with giraffes, zebras, impalas etc.

Dinner and overnight at lodge.

 

Day 05: 

Approx. 320 kms – 6 hrs.

Early departure after breakfast –  and drive past Kenya’s capital Nairobi. – southerly direction to  Amboseli National Park.

Amboseli National Park is within the best viewing of Africa’s highest peak (Mt. Kilimanjaro) in neighbouring Tanzania.

This park is also famous for its large herds of elephants.

It does offer a variety of other plains game to observe;

Buffaloes, giraffes, zebra, etc. as well as big cats.

Amboseli is one of the globally recognized biospheres.

It’s literally a bird watcher’s paradise, with over 350 species, of both aquatic and grassland birds to observe.

This does include several palearctic migrants that visit this ecosystem periodically between October – April of each migratory/ migration cycle.

Dinner and overnight at lodge/camp.

 

Day 06: 

This day will be spent enjoying further game viewing drives in the park.

Possibility of undertaking optionally a balloon flight early in the morning.

A balloon flight in Amboseli presents an unforgettable opportunity to have the magnificent views of the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro, as well as all the beautiful surrounding landscape.

Lunch, Dinner & O/N.

 

Day 07: 

After B/F, departure for the SGR station at Emali for onward trip to Diani beach

– Return to Nairobi.

– Drop off as per itinerary!!
