Day 01
Depart from Nairobi at 7:30 am and drive north-west of Kenya’s capital, Nairobi. Lake Nakuru National Park is approximately 157 kilometers from Nairobi, approximately a 3 hour’s drive. Beautiful views in the Great Rift Valley from its eastern flanks, and eventually access the rift’s floor to proceed all the way to the worlds famous Sanctuary for both endangered black rhinos as well as white rhinos.
The 188 km² park with its alkaline lake is also famous for its birdlife, flamingos, pelicans, herons, etc. The flamingo’s phenomenon has lost its former glory of the 1970s and 1980s due to changes that have occurred within the different lakes on the floor of the Great Rift Valley in the last twenty or so years. However, the presence of the rare Rothschild’s giraffe as well as lions, leopards, and other plains game makes this park worth visiting.
Full board basis. Lodge/Camp inside the park or accommodation outside the park.
Day 02
After breakfast, depart for the world famous Maasai Mara National Reserve.
Distance: 220 kms, arriving in time for lunch.
Afternoon game viewing drive. Maasai Mara is famous as a wildlife hub, where we look forward to see members of the big five i.e.; Black rhinos, elephants, leopard etc. Dinner and overnight at your lodge/camp.
Day 03
We could optionally undertake the early morning game drive at around (06:30 hrs) and later return to camp for breakfast.
Alternatively, explore the vast plains of Maasai Mara; departing Camp/lodge with packed lunches to return to base as from 16:00 hrs.
On this day, we have the possibility of arranging for an early morning balloon flight, Charged separately as an extra activity.
There’s also an option of a cultural visit to the local Maasai community village.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge/camp.
Day 04
After breakfast, embark on our return trip to Nairobi, departing the game reserve before 10 am in the morning to avoid extra charges by reserve authorities.
Arrive in Nairobi afternoon and drop at JKIA or hotels etc.
